The jaunty and splendid Young GODS is dedicated to one of Windsor-Smith’s idols, comic artist Jack Kirby. Its pantheon of godlike heroes bears a passing resemblance to Kirby’s mythic creation The Mighty Thor.

The plot of Young GODS revolves around an impending intergalactic war between two dynasties, brought on by the desertion of Heros, Prince of All-Worlds, from his arranged marriage to Princess Celestra of Orgasma. Heros is inveigled by his cousin Strangehands and Celestra’s fiery, foul-mouthed older sister Princess Adastra, into embarking instead upon an impromptu bachelor party in the form of a cosmic dragon chasing expedition. Comic mayhem ensues.
